Access Statement For B&B in “Daisy”
Introduction
Our B&B cottage is on ground & first floor of a building attached on 2 sides.
We have tried to provide as much information as possible in this statement, if you have any enquiries please do call. We look forward to welcoming you.
Pre-Arrival
- We have a comprehensive website, on the menu “Location” has several maps
- Bookings / enquiries can be made via email, fax or phone or on the website
- The nearest train station (Gillingham, Dorset) is about 5.7 miles (9.2 km) away; there are normally taxis at the station
- We provide items such as tea/coffee making facilities, towels, toiletries
- We can provide information in large print on request. This is already available on our website.
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
- There is a car park near the cottage with adequate space for several cars
- Car park is slightly sloping concrete and fairly flat and even
- There is no street parking
- The entrance at the front has 2 steps from the parking area
- Parking is outside the garages which is a short walk to the cottage
- The entrance is reached from the parking area.
Main Entrance
Daisy Cottage
- The entrance at the front has 2 steps
- The door is a typical double glazed hinged type door
- Inside the front entrance is the sitting dining area which leads to a single ensuite bedroom and the top floor, & kitchen
- The staircase is in one flight to the first floor. The stairs are original 1950. They have a hand rail on the right side, most of the way up.
General (Internal)
- There are no internal “public areas” however the reception and laundry is also used by Bluebell cottage
Daisy Cottage
- The ground floor entrance is into the dining/lounge area to the right is the kitchen, and to the right also is the downstairs single ensuite bedroom
- Fire (smoke &/or heat) alarms are fitted to the whole cottage (all bedrooms & eating area) if one sounds they all sound.

Dining Area & Lounge
- It is an open plan layout
- The dining area is open plan with the lounge
- Square tables (moveable side to side) – legs in each corner, they have 2 leaves on either sides which extend the tables
- Chairs (moveable) – 6 chairs with padded seats and no arms for the dining table(s)
- Flooring is short pile carpet throughout
- Furniture is moveable and of a dark colour
- Two double sofas provided are both armed
- Teletext TV provided with remote control & freeview (also available are DVD, HiFi, with radio and tape)
Laundry
- There is a separate laundry next to the reception where there is a standard size washer and dryer, both front loading. Powder is provided there is a small charge for use of the laundry.

- Evacuation of the cottage is posted in the bedrooms
- The cottage is no smoking, it is against the law to smoke inside
- Pets are not allowed
